Earlier today, my lovely friend, Pik Yeng (Pikky, for short) decided to keep me company while I did one of my (many) required fieldworks for a subject in uni. It was required (for this particular assignment) that I took ten pictures each representing street life (interesting human activities) & street character (objects, places, anything that adds to the character of the street) of Elizabeth Street in Melbourne CBD.

Pikky, automatically brought me here. To this unknown laneway, hidden in the midst of all the shopping, busking, & hustle bustle of Bourke Street. (Speaking of which, I should really find out the name of the laneway for future references)

But yes, thought I’d share this picture I took. This lane, was filled with graffiti, one end to another, top to bottom. This was not your normal ugly tagging done in (rather) dodgy corners in the city. Somehow, this was of a different nature. It was art. Beautiful, colourful, expressive art.

Especially loved this section of the wall, it was previously filled with pictures (from what looked like India, or Pakistan; or you know a country similar to those). Each picture telling a different story; sending you to a whole different place, with a whole different set of emotions.

I love my city. All of its eccentricities, and beautiful forms of art. And I couldn’t be more proud to call this city, Home.

Paper Cutting.

I think the world should know that one of my many loves is books & paper (oh, the smell & feel of books). Although I’m not exaggerating when I say many (I really mean many many manyyy), books and paper would be one of the few at the top of that very very very long list.

So, it’s no brainer that I’d enjoy everything and anything related to them. I have so much respect for those who do paper cutting, like:

Look at the amount of details! And all on one sheet of paper! I wish I had such a talent. Seriously. Too bad I can’t even cut a straight line, or a proper crooked line (oxymoron?).

I think I’ve just died and gone to paper heaven.
